Former Formula 1 driver Mark Zurer has expressed doubts about the correctness of the Haas team`s decision to part ways with Mick Schumacher.
According to Zurer, replacing Schumacher with Nico Hulkenberg will be bad for Haas in the long term.
In Mick you had a driver with two years of experience as a trainee in Formula 1, and you decide to get rid of him. The moment he might have had a breakthrough.
In the short term, yes, choosing a more experienced driver (Hulkenberg) who is also hungry to race will be better in the context of one season. But in the long run, Mick would have been a much better choice.
I don`t think we`ve seen the best version of Mick yet. He is a good racer, and a good racer can become a world champion. The talent in him is clearly visible. If he gets behind the wheel of the right car, where everything works out for him, he can achieve a lot - as we have already seen in both F3 and F2.
